"Migration Matters"

The implementation of the project is based on approaching the concept of migration and why it "matters" by approaching several migration matters.
During our partnership, we arranged studies and activities related to several issues that are either influencing or being influenced by all facets of migration, immigration, and emigration. We used etwinning as a means of communication and this web site to post and share our studies.
Prior to and during the meeting in Germany, we addressed issues related to refugees and migrants in our countries nowadays. The activities we arranged, our research and our common work during the meeting are available at the “Refugees and Migrants today” link of our twinspace.
Prior and during the meeting in Italy we researched past and present internal migration in our countries e.g. for seasonal working. Moreover,  we researched incidents of emigration to other European countries and abroad during the last centuries and today.
Prior to the meeting held in Portugal, we decided on several aspects that migration influences and leads to globalization such as the means of communication, the evolution of transportation, the fashion expression, e.t.c.
Before the meeting in Greece, each partner school studied how migration has influenced the literature and music of its country and presented one influential aspect during the meeting.
Our intention was to compare the migration movements of our countries and the conditions for job immigrants in Europe in the past and today, the occupations that migrants occupy as well as migrants' integration and contribution into the receiving society. Our approach was both bibliographical and interactive by contacting and interviewing contemporary witnesses who emigrated and came back. We also explored young students' perceptions of emigrating in the future.
The activities we arranged, our research and our common work during the meeting are available at the “Internal migration and Emigration” link of our twinspace.
Each national team was assigned to research one aspect and prepare audio and visual material so that we share our research and produce a video during the meeting. The research carried out by the project partners and the videos produced during the meeting are available at the "Migration and Globalization" link of our twinspace.
Moreover,  the Greek team researched international filmography on migration and picked 10 movies that span into reporting several migration incidents. Instead of exploring how migration is depicted in songs we decided to be creative and produce our own migration song. Alle the material is available at “Migration in literature, movies and songs” link of our twinspace.

Before the meeting in Poland, each partner school studied how migration has influenced the cultural development of our countries regarding architecture, economy, language, and arts in the past and present.

During the meeting, partners contributed with photos and other documents showing their research's results so that we create a (photo) collage as a common product. The research carried out prior to the meeting and the the photocollages are available at the "The influence of migration on art, architecture, language, and literature" link of our twinspace.

Prior to the meeting in France, each partner school took interviews from people who have to travel and stay away from home due to their occupation.

During the meeting, students collaborating in international teams created 6 storyboards that derived from the synthesis of these interviews. The material related to the interviews and the storyboards is available at the "Migratory professions" link of our twinspace.

Before the meeting in Croatia, each partner school studied positive and negative aspects of species' migration and researched about invasive plants and animals and their consequences in their countries' local environment.

We worked in an app called "Canva“ to create an online brochure. During the meeting,  students created an animated film about plant and animal migrations as well as prepared and performed a theatrical performance about species migration. All the material is available at the "Migration in flora and fauna" link of our webpage

Before the meeting in Lithuania, all the national teams researched incidents of forced migration in their country. The historical circumstances that lead to such incidents, the areas where people moved, their living and working conditions e.t.c.

The information collected was shared with the rest of our partners and was used during the meeting to create a common interactive map that integrated all the information. The research carried out by the project partners and the interactive map created during the meeting are available at the "Forced Migration" link of our twinspace.

Before the meeting in Spain, each partner school studied both official statistical data and articles in the media so that we contrast these two sources and conclude whether the press presents unbiased or manipulates the facts.

During the meeting, we synthesized our research in the form of video, collage, and poster. All the material are available at "Migration in statistics, media, in public and political debate" link of our twinspace.
